Product Review by Miss Ryn
1. The Body Shop: Lip Butter
2. The Body Shop: Born Lippy Lip Balm Container
3. ELF: Lip Exfoliator Clear
4. EOS: Lip Balm Egg
5. Maybelline: Baby Lips Crystal Edition
As you can see, these are all lip care products. To be quite honest, some of these I have been using for a long time because of the results or simply because they were the "NEW" and what seemed to be popular or trending lip product. Either way, all of these products I have been using for at least a month and I feel I have had enough of an experience with each to tell you about it!(:
Let's Begin
The Body Shop Lip Butter and Lip Balm are both amazing products, they do come in different scents/flavors. Each of these are generally one for $6 or two for $10, I think it's a great deal because you can get a butter and a balm, and it is definitely worth the money you spend. The butter of course is a bit thicker and gives you more moisture than the balm does, which is why I use the butter at night and the balm during the day. A little really does go a long way with both of these products, and with both you can really feel the difference in the texture of your lips within 48 hours, they will feel completely moisturized and "baby" soft.
As you can tell from the pictures, some of them do have some color to them, but when applied to your lips- there is not much of a tint, it comes on practically clear with the exception of "Born Lippy PassionBerry" it has a very light purple tint to it, and it's barely even noticeable. All of these are very easy to apply, either with your finger, q-tip or even a lip brush. They glide on easily and provide hours of wear, they can even be used as a primer/base if you plan on applying lipstick, it really does help keep your lipstick color on longer with that extra kick of moisture. It does come as shown in these pictures, the packaging is very cute, small and easy to store or carry around :) these do come in a tube form for the balms [Picture 3] but I don't really feel like it is as moisturizing as the container balms. The tube just makes it for an easier application, but the moisture isn't as great for me, I find myself applying more throughout the day than I do with the container balms.
I definitely would recommend buying these, great product and price.

The ELF Lip Exfoliator, is a super amazing product. My husband actually picked it up for me from Target. If I am not mistaken, I believe he bought it for $3 + tax, he got it because I was totally into the whole DIY Lip Scrub and eventually it got to be a little tedious to use everyday. While the ELF Lip Exfoliator comes in a cute lipstick like tube and is extremely quick and easy to use. I love it because it isn't super harsh like other lip scrubs and can be used daily, it also has a really sweet taste to it, but I do not recommend eating the product. Lol. This exfoliator does make a noticeable difference in the texture and appearance of your lips, almost immediately. It takes away the dead skin and leaves your lips feeling soft and smooth, I recommend using a balm after you've exfoliated your lips just to keep the moisture locked in.
The ELF Lip Exfoliator is definitely one of my daily products because it is really quick and easy to use, I mean literally after I brush my teeth, I can exfoliate and just put on a clear balm to keep my lips soft. I found this to be great with Hawaii weather because sometimes the dry air can leave the skin on lips a bit chaffed or chapped, but this scrub takes that right off without much scrubbing. It was light enough that I didn't have any pain from the dead skin coming off my lips, it scrubbed off the top layer and I applied a balm right after and it was just perfect.
I recommend buying this, great addition to a daily routine, simple, quick application, great price, amazing results.

The EOS Lip Balm Egg is actually an unique product. I honestly picked it up because I had heard many people talking about it, my friends were loving the presentation of this particular product, and it was less than $4 at CVS and Walgreens. I see why it is really popular, I mean the lip balm itself is great, it is really moisturizing, there are different flavors/colors, and the egg shaped packaging makes it quite easy to find in your bag [Picture 1]. The only downside I would have to say, is there is no way to make the balm rise up, after you've used the egg shaped mound and it becomes flat, there is still product left over in the bottom of the egg. The product is great, until you've flattened it, then it becomes a tedious task to get the rest of the balm out (if you even bother). At first I thought I may have been using it wrong, maybe there was a way to push the remainder of the balm upwards- but there isn't, there is no way to push the balm upwards so you can use more of it, I found myself applying it with a lip brush at this point, where most of my friends just decided to throw it out and buy a new one or not because you end up wasting half of the balm if you just toss it at this point.
If not, you can be like me and attempt to use every last bit of the balm [Picture 2], by removing the wheel so the last of the balm is accessible. Depending on how you feel about the extra effort it takes to get that last bit of balm.
I do not recommend buying this, it's sort of a hassle to use, although it's easy to find, you waste half the product if you don't take the extra time to remove the center wheel.
How To Remove EOS Lip Balm From Egg Bottom:
Step 1: Scrape off the flat top layer of the balm until you come to the plastic wheel, and just place the balm on either a clean napkin or top portion of the EOS Egg.
Step 2: Cut the edges of the plastic wheel around the outside edge of the egg, if you cut the center it will be more difficult to remove the entire wheel. Be sure to push the remaining balm down to the bottom of the egg before attempting to cut the wheel, this is so your balm stays in slightly bigger chunks making it easier to work with later.
Step 3: Use tweezers or pliers to remove the entire center of the wheel.
Step 4: Replace the rest of the balm to the bottom of the egg. At this point you can either melt the balm back into the egg to make it one smooth big piece, or you can leave it in the chunks- either way you need to use your finger or a lip brush to apply it to your lips after this process.

The Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Edition is a great addition to the Baby Lips Collection. It's completely fun, if you like having moisture with a pop of color, this is definitely for you. The Crystal Edition does have tint when applied and does have some sparkle. I personally used it like a lipstick, it was just that pigmented. I was really pleased with the overall consistency and application with this edition, I did try the Original Baby Lips and that just wasn't for me at all. The Original was just too "watery" but I feel like the Crystal came out more creamy which made my lips feel and look great. I believe this was another buy under $5, I did buy it from Walgreens, it has lasted me a while just because it does have a long wear but also, I don't want to over apply it. Since it is really pigmented, applying too many coats just makes it look a little trashy on me, especially with all the sparkles.
Overall did enjoy this product, it is worth the money spent and it can be doubled as a balm and lipstick, so it worked out perfectly. The colors on the bottom of the packaging is really what you get, I mean it is going to be a bit lighter than the actual packaging itself, but the pigment is generally there and an abundance of glitter. I think I geared it more towards night wear because in the sun, I felt it looked too dark and glittery; although everyone has different body chemistry, it may look nicer on you during the day :)
I do recommend buying this if you're looking for something with that moisture and color, it's great because it doesn't dry out your lips and it's a lasting wear.
